Ingredients:
1 cup black sesame seeds
1/2 cup goji berries
1 cup dates, pitted
1 cup walnuts
Zest of 1 orange
4 1/2 Tablespoons of Vitality ZiSpice Blend
or
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 tablespoon ashwagandha powder
1 tablespoon coconut sugar
1 teaspoon reishi powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Additional coconut sugar or cacao powder for coating (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare Ingredients:
If your dates are not soft, soak them in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften. Drain them before using.
Toast the black sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat for a few minutes until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
Blend:
In a food processor, combine the toasted black sesame seeds, goji berries, dates, walnuts, orange zest, cacao powder, reishi powder, ashwagandha powder, coconut sugar, cardamom, and cinnamon.
Pulse the mixture until it starts to come together into a sticky dough. You may need to scrape down the sides of the food processor bowl a few times to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated.
Form Balls:
Once the mixture has formed a sticky dough, use your hands to roll it into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. If the mixture is too sticky to handle, you can wet your hands slightly with water to prevent sticking.
Optional Coating:
Roll the formed balls in additional coconut sugar or cacao powder for extra sweetness and flavor if desired.
Chill:
Place the protein balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Serve:
Once chilled, your protein balls are ready to eat! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
These Energizing Sesame Superfood Protein Balls are a delicious and nutritious snack packed with protein, healthy fats, and natural sweeteners. Enjoy!
